About In Flight Wines
In Flight Wines was created to make approaching and exploring wine simple, structured, and meaningful.
Each tasting focuses on a set of wines chosen to reveal how place, grape, method, and food pairing interact. The goal is to help you learn what you like and why, how to pair with food, and what other wines to explore based on your tastes.
Our format reflects the belief that learning about wine doesn’t have to be formal or fancy. By presenting curated tastings in a portable form, In Flight Wines bridges the gap between education and experience, offering context without pretense.
Our offering
The goal is to help you learn what you like and why, how to pair with food, and what other wines to explore based on your tastes.
Each set includes:
Guided notes that explain how to taste and compare
What defines each wine - including varietal, geography, making and aging method
Why the differences matter
Food pairing suggestions
We design each flight to answer specific questions such as:
How does the place where the grapes are grown impact the final product?
What are the characteristics of the grape or grapes used to make the wine?
What winemaking and aging techniques were used to create this wine and why do they matter?
What foods work well with this wine to bring out its nuance and flavor?
Founder & creator
Jenny is the founder and creator of In Flight Wines. In Flight Wines was founded on the premise that enjoying and exploring wine is about context and community not pretense or exclusivity.
It all started with a wine textbook - Kevin Zraly’s Windows on the World - during the 2020 lockdown. For the past 5 years Jenny has been curating “wine journeys” for friends and family - creating structure and space for informal tastings and conversations about what makes a wine taste the way it does, what foods enhance a wine’s taste, and similarities or differences across wines.
In Flight Wines is a logical next step to formalize “wine journeys” into thoughtfully constructed comparative tasting flights with a simple, easy to understand tasting approach, and contextualized suggestions for how to think about and enjoy the wines comparatively and with food pairings.
Jenny is WSET Level 2 certified and currently pursuing Level 3.
